But try it and it'll all feel very intuitive. Think VSCode command palette but for app switching. For example, if I do alt + "d" just once, it'll remember that that's set to my "Dev Profile". You can set how that determinism works too by just switching to it. Hold alt then type "pe" it goes to "Personal".īasically, it tries to make alt-tab as deterministic as possible. I hold alt then type "de" and I get switched to the "Dev Profile" chrome window right await. One is on my "Dev Profile", one is on "Personal". For example, I have multiple Chrome windows. If you have multiple windows of one app open, it makes switching to the specific one a breeze.

It's one of my top 3 Mac apps (BetterTouchTool + Alfred/Raycast round that up). I think it's one of the most underrated apps out there. In GoodLinks I can configure a swipe or ⌘→ - it's the little things.Īpp doesn't get big updates anymore but still works great for me in Monterey. I don't remember how quick it was to open a link in browser in Pocket, but I sure didn't like the “show web view” mode. It has good keyboard shortcuts on Mac/iPad. On iOS you can change app icons, customize swipe gestures. If you're happy with Pocket, I'm not sure there’s huge reasons to switch (can't argue with free), but there's definitely something: you can customize the text layout more, no social feature bloat or upsell to premium, extra theme color options. It let's even copy an article in Markdown if you're into that sort of thing. It's quick to add tags from share extension by just start typing. GoodLinks has been super reliable, articles render reliably and nicely in reader mode. Not that Pocket’s design was exactly bad, I quite liked it, but it’s not as good on all 3 (iPhone, iPad, but especially Mac). Well, it’s a very native-feeling app, nice design, has a great app for all of the 3 platforms. It has become my single source for any type of longform reading. I've transferred all my reading and bookmarks from Pocket to Matter. Simple utility but found it very helpful. Helps open urls and files in specific browsers and apps.

Raycast - Found it better than Alfred, as I was only using the free version and did not have the powerpack.Incredibly useful for people who watch a lot of videos including youtube. Vidimote safari extension - Video speed controller and pip features. My favourite apps of the year, in no particular order, were. I get many of these through Setapp, which is getting better and better and something I really recommend :) I might add more as I remember what I use.
